Governor of Assam Honours Nation Builders with the International Buddha Peace Award & Gaurav Shri Samman in Guwahati

In a remarkable celebration of compassion, dedication, and service to society, the Maitry Peace Foundation organized a prestigious award function on 2nd May 2025 in the vibrant city of Guwahati, Assam. The event brought together changemakers, educators, social workers, cultural leaders, and peace advocates from across the country who have made extraordinary contributions to society.


The occasion was graced by the Honourable Governor of Assam, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who served as the Chief Guest. His presence lent immense significance to the event and highlighted the government’s encouragement of grassroots efforts in social upliftment. In his inspiring speech, the Governor applauded the Maitry Peace Foundation for its unwavering commitment to promoting peace and honoring those who work tirelessly to bring positive change.


“When we honor individuals who serve selflessly, we reinforce the values of humanity, unity, and brotherhood. The Maitry Peace Foundation is doing a commendable job by recognizing these torchbearers of social transformation,” said Governor Acharya.


The award ceremony recognized individuals from various walks of life — educators who have transformed lives through learning, social workers who have uplifted the underprivileged, environmentalists who have safeguarded nature, and peacebuilders who have resolved conflicts and promoted harmony. Each recipient was presented with a trophy and citation in recognition of their invaluable efforts toward creating a better and more compassionate world.


The President of Maitry Peace Foundation, Surajit Barua, a respected Buddhist monk and a well-known peace advocate, presided over the event. In his address, he emphasized the Foundation’s mission to bridge communities, inspire social service, and spread the values of peace and understanding.

Shri Narahari Gadde is a dedicated social worker and the visionary founder of Jai Shree Maa Kamakhya Services Private Limited, an organization committed to serving humanity with compassion and integrity. Deeply rooted in the values of service and spiritual healing, Shri Gadde has created a platform where people can access essential treatments and care at a very minimal cost. His efforts have brought hope and relief to countless individuals, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, who would otherwise struggle to afford proper medical and holistic care. Through his organization, he continues to blend traditional wisdom with a modern sense of responsibility, making a profound difference in the lives of those he serves.
